Evelyne Binsack

Evelyne Binsack is a Professional Mountain Guide UIAGM and Expedition Leader, keynote speaker, mental and business coach, and bestselling author. She was among the first women globally and the youngest to earn a Swiss federal diploma as a mountain guide. Evelyne became the first Swiss woman to summit Mount Everest solo, a feat documented in "Evelyne Binsack: Defeating Mt. Everest and Reaching New Heights." Evelyne undertook the "Expedition Antarctica," reaching the South Pole from Switzerland using only muscle power. Over 484 days, she cycled more than 25,000 kilometres through 16 countries to southern Chile. This journey completed her "Three Poles" trilogy, making her the first person to reach the highest (Mount Everest), southernmost (South Pole), and northernmost (North Pole) points on Earth under her own power. She is also the only person crossing the entire hemisphere using muscle power. In 2019, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Barbie™ doll, Evelyne was honoured as a female role model, becoming the first Swiss woman to have her own Barbie doll. Her career began in a sports store while she pursued middle-distance running. At sixteen, she discovered her passion for mountaineering, which led her to earn her mountain guide diploma at 24 and establish her mountaineering school. Evelyne climbed the Eiger North Face in winter and later completed a solo ascent, awarded "Film of the Year" in 1999. On May 23, 2001, she became the first Swiss woman to summit Mount Everest via the North Route in Tibet. She earned a professional helicopter pilot licence between expeditions and worked in Europe. Her "Expedition Antarctica" from 2006 to 2008 was her most challenging, leading to her nomination for "Swiss of the Year" in 2008. Evelyne trained as a documentary filmmaker in Los Angeles in 2012, returning to Everest for her film "ÜberLebensWille." From 2016 to 2017, she completed her "Three Poles" trilogy by reaching the North Pole. Since 2019, she has focused on coaching and organisational consultancy in change management and leadership.
