Helen Skelton

Helen Elizabeth is an English television presenter known for her work on various BBC programmes. She co-presented the children's show Blue Peter from 2008 to 2013 and has been a presenter on Countryfile since 2014. Additionally, she co-hosted the BBC One programme Holiday Hit Squad and the daytime series The Instant Gardener. Helen joined Blue Peter in 2008 as its 33rd presenter. She became known for her adventurous spirit during her time on the show. In 2009, she was only the second woman to complete the Namibia Ultra Marathon and participated in the London Marathon shortly after, raising funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability. Her adventurous pursuits include climbing out of a moulin on an Alaskan glacier, competing against a world powerboat champion, and finishing sixth in the UK Women’s Downhill Skateboarding Championships. In 2010, she kayaked 2,010 miles down the Amazon for Sport Relief, breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest solo kayak journey. Two years later, she completed a 500-mile trek to the South Pole, becoming the first person to reach the Pole by bicycle. Helen has also reported on major BBC Radio Five Live events, including the London Marathon, the Epsom Derby, and the Wimbledon Championships. Recently, she became a regular host of the BBC’s daytime show Morning Live. In addition to her work on Morning Live, Helen co-hosted Channel 5’s Dan & Helen’s Pennie Adventure with Dan Walker, where they explored the countryside and engaged in local activities. She also hosted On The Farm, sharing stories from rural life, and lent her voice to a new character, Anne Morris, in the animated series Fireman Sam. Her latest series, Lost and Found in the Lakes, features Helen leading a team of experts searching for lost treasures in the Lake District, reuniting them with their owners. Helen is also an author, having published her debut book, In My Stride: Lessons Learned Through Life and Adventure. Beyond her media career, she has collaborated with brands such as Go Outdoors, Argos, Victoria Plum, and Lloyds Bank. She actively supports various charitable causes, including Mind Charity.
