Jo Malone

Jo Malone CBE, an English scent maverick, is renowned for creating some of the world’s most loved fragrances. Originally a facial therapist, Jo discovered her talent for creating scented products while working from her London home. Her handmade potions quickly gained popularity, leading her to launch her first brand, Jo Malone London, which achieved global cult status. In 1999, she sold the business to Estée Lauder Companies and remained Creative Director until 2006. Jo is no longer associated with the Jo Malone London brand. In 2008, Jo was honoured with an MBE for her services to the beauty industry. Despite leaving her first brand, her passion for fragrance persisted. Inspired by her love for cooking, she began experimenting with new ingredients and realised her desire to create fragrances again. In November 2011, she launched her new brand, Jo Loves, to global anticipation. In 2013, she opened the first Jo Loves store in Belgravia's Elizabeth Street, where she had started her career as a florist. Jo Loves embodies her creativity and innovation, offering scents, bath, body, and candle collections inspired by her personal memories and moments. Jo Loves continues to expand globally, with products in various categories, including Fragrance, Home Candles, Personal Care, and Diffusers. In June 2018, Jo was awarded a CBE for her services to the British economy and the GREAT British Campaign, which promotes British creativity and industry internationally. In 2016, Jo published her award-winning autobiography, "My Story," detailing her rise from humble beginnings to business success. Raised in government-subsidised housing in Kent, Jo left school as a teenager to care for her mother. Despite struggling with dyslexia, she had a unique ability to perceive scents. Her at-home beauty business grew into an international brand. After selling her company and battling breast cancer, Jo began a new chapter with Jo Loves. Jo is a sought-after international speaker, sharing her entrepreneurial journey and insights on fragrance. Her dedication to the art of fragrance continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
