Shiva Raichandani

Shiva Raichandani is a BAFTA-nominated non-binary screenwriter, director, producer, and inclusion consultant for film and television. Recently, Shiva was selected by the TV Collective, which includes BBC, Prime Video, Sky, ITV, and Fremantle, as a Breakthrough Leader, influencing the future of the television industry. Shiva received the BFI and BAFTA LGBTQIA+ Mentoring Scheme award and was named a Top 10 trailblazer for Film, TV, and Music in the UK by Attitude Magazine. As a recipient of the inaugural Netflix Documentary Talent Fund, Shiva directed the short film “Peach Paradise,” which premiered at TikTok’s first live film showcase. Shiva's independent short narrative film “Queer Parivaar” won the BAFTA-qualifying Iris Prize for Best British Short, leading to its broadcast and streaming on Channel 4. Shiva's latest BAFTA-nominated documentary, ‘Always, Asifa,’ commissioned by Together TV’s Diverse Film Fund, premiered at the BFI’s London Film Festival. Shiva operates under their film and TV production company, raisilience. Shiva was a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent and competed on India’s and France’s Got Talent. Shiva participated in an exclusive Netflix short film, delivered a TEDx talk, and spoke at 'Google - I am Remarkable.' Shiva has performed at Cannes Lions and has been featured by Google, Getty Images, Instagram, and Vogue, as well as walking the London Queer Fashion Show. In addition to their creative work, Shiva freelances as a speaker and consultant on inclusive LGBTQIA+ practices for corporate and non-profit organisations and serves as a D&I Content Consultant at New Inclusion. Shiva holds degrees in Psychology, Counselling, and Media Communication, using their knowledge and lived experiences to explore intersectional identities. Shiva leverages digital platforms to create safe community spaces that champion diverse talent and address societal issues. Shiva exemplifies a global citizen with a deep understanding of diverse cultures.
