Troy Deeney

Troy Deeney is a professional footballer, coach, broadcaster, and anti-racism campaigner known for his insightful commentary and candid approach to the challenges faced within the sport. Troy has had a notable playing career, having captained both Watford and Birmingham City in the Premier League and the Championship, and coached Forest Green Rovers. Over his career, he has made more than 500 professional appearances and scored over 160 goals. He holds the record as Watford FC's all-time leading Premier League goal scorer, a title he earned during his time at the club from 2010 to 2021. Growing up in a difficult environment, Troy’s early years were marked by personal struggles and setbacks. Despite these challenges, he forged a successful career in professional football, overcoming adversity to become a prominent figure in the Premier League. Along the way, he faced controversy and took steps to improve himself, sharing this journey in his book, "Redemption: My Story". He regularly appears as a pundit on Sky Sports EFL fixtures and co-hosts the BBC Sounds programme 'Football Firsts' alongside Jermain Defoe. In 2022, he presented the Channel 4 documentary "Troy Deeney: Where’s My History?"
