Nirmal "Nims" Purja MBE, born in Nepal's Dhaulagiri region, joined the Brigade of Gurkhas in 2003 and became the first Gurkha to join the SBS in 2009. He is widely recognized for his exceptional contributions to high-altitude mountaineering and was awarded the MBE for his accomplishments. On October 29, 2019, he successfully completed the #ProjectPossible challenge, summiting the Earth's 14 highest peaks in a record-breaking time of 6 months and 6 days, which is significantly faster than the previous record of nearly eight years. His remarkable achievements will be chronicled in an upcoming book.
