Alex Haddow is a London-based comedian and writer known as one of the rising stars on the UK comedy circuit. A regular performer at comedy clubs nationwide, she balances cheeky humour with more risqué content. Alex has appeared at major festivals, including Reading, Leeds, and Victorious, and has supported well-known comedians such as Frankie Boyle, Bill Bailey, and Eshaan Akbar. She hosts Dulwich Hamlet Comedy monthly.
Her debut show, Not My Finest Hour, sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe 2023, leading to two additional performances. The show received positive reviews and was nominated for Best Debut Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2023. Alex plans to tour the show across the UK in 2024.
Originally from the East Midlands, Alex was the first in her family to attend university and pursue a career in the arts. She often reflects on the contrast between her working-class background and her current life as a freelance writer and comedian in East London. With a growing social media presence, she has over 49,000 followers on Twitter and more than 10,000 on Instagram, where her sharp tweets frequently gain traction.
Her radio credits include appearances on BBC Radio 4 Extra's Comedy Club, the Moon Under Water Podcast, and the Fit and Proper Podcast. In 2023, she won the inaugural West End Comedy Club Working Class Bursary and was shortlisted for the 99 Club Female and Non-Binary Comedians Programme.
As a writer, Alex has contributed to various publications, including Have I Got News For You, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, and others. She is a regular Sunday Times Style and the London Evening Standard columnist. Additionally, she runs the popular indie music night, Indie Amnesty, which has hosted sold-out events in multiple cities. For Alen Haddow bookings, contact the PepTalk team.
