Ed Night is an award-nominated stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. His recent online sketches have attracted millions of views on Instagram and TikTok, earning him a nomination for the Chortle Awards in 2024. In 2017, his debut hour at the Edinburgh Fringe, Anthem For Doomed Youth, made him one of the youngest nominees for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer and led to his role as co-host of BBC Radio 1's first comedy commissioning in a decade.
He was also nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award that year. His 2018 show, An Aesthetic, sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe and was performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he participated in the opening night gala on ABC. His follow-up show, Jokes of Love and Hate, received critical acclaim and was highlighted as a top pick of the Edinburgh Fringe by critics from The Times and The Scotsman.
Ed recently completed his debut tour, Rise and Smile, which started in Streatham and concluded in Copenhagen and Belfast. He is set to return to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, his first appearance since 2019. Ed's writing has appeared on shows such as The Mash Report, 8 Out of 10 Cats, The News Quiz, Mock the Week, and Comedy Central's Roast Battle, where he also made an appearance. As an actor, he has portrayed various characters in popular comedy shows, including The Pot Hole Man in BBC 3's Zen Motoring, White Luther in Channel 4's Complaints Department, and Karl Fink in BBC Radio 4's Icklewick FM.
