Anna Leong Brophy is a writer, actor, and comedian. She stars in Netflix's fantasy series Shadow and Bone, portraying warrior Tamar Kir-Bataar in Season 2. Anna has appeared as Bryony in Channel 4's Back, alongside David Mitchell and Robert Webb, and in Netflix's The Billion Dollar Code. Her television credits include BBC 1's Last Tango in Halifax, The Girl Before, Traces, Ragdoll for Alibi, and the spy series Berlin Station with Ashley Judd.
In theatre, Anna's credits include Henry VI Part One with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Pitcairn at Chichester Festival Theatre/Shakespeare's Globe, and In the Night Time (Before the Sun Rises) at Orange Tree Theatre. She starred as reporter Olivia Tan in the feature film Paradise War, which opened the 2019 Zurich Film Festival, and voiced Jin in the 2021 Shaun the Sheep Christmas Special: The Flight Before Christmas.
Anna is part of the comedy duo EGG, which received acclaim for their 2018 Edinburgh Fringe show Richard Pictures and appeared on Channel 4's Harry Hill's Clubnite in 2019. Their BBC Radio 4 Comedy Special Scrambled EGG, focusing on the mixed-race experience, was named comedy of the week. EGG hosts the podcast Still Legit, which reviews films and TV shows from their childhood, and Wondery's podcast Terribly Famous, which tells the stories of iconic stars.
