Elis James is a stand-up comedian, podcast host, actor, and broadcaster. Since 2019, he has hosted the Friday afternoon show on BBC 5 Live with John Robins. He co-hosts the popular 'Fantasy Football League' on Sky with Matt Lucas, with a second series set for release in 2024. Elis has made numerous TV appearances, including on 'Mock the Week', 'Eight Out of Ten Cats', and 'Eight Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown'. In his acting career, he starred in BBC3's sitcom 'Crims' and played Owen in three series of 'Josh', created by Josh Widdicombe.
He co-hosts several podcasts, including his 5 Live podcast and 'How Do You Cope' with fellow comedian John Robins. Additionally, he co-hosts BBC's 'The Socially Distant Sports Bar' with Mike Bubbins and Steff Garrero, the 'Feast of Football' podcast for BBC Radio Wales, and 'Football Weekly' for The Guardian. Elis hosts the comedy/history series 'Oh What a Time'. He and John Robins recently presented 'Made Up Games Live', and he has toured with 'The Socially Distant Sports Bar'.
In addition, Elis regularly writes for The Guardian and published his first co-authored book, 'Holy Vible,' with John Robins.
