Jenson Button is one of Britain's most respected figures in elite sport and the 2009 FIA Formula 1 World Champion. The son of former racer John Button, Jenson began karting at a young age and won the 1991 British Cadet Karting Championship. He progressed rapidly, claiming the British Formula Ford Championship and the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch in 1998, as well as the prestigious McLaren-Autosport BRDC Award. A year later he finished third in the British Formula 3 Championship, earning a Formula 1 test with Williams that led to a full-time race seat at just 20 years old.
