Nicki Chapman

Nicki Chapman is a familiar face on British television, best known for hosting BBC One’s Escape To The Country and its celebrity spin-offs. Since 2006, she has also been a key figure at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, showcasing her love for nature and design. In addition to her work on TV, Nicki is a regular presenter on BBC Radio 2, where she not only hosts shows but has produced and presented documentaries. She also ventured into podcasting, hosting the popular Midsomer Murders Mayhem, a deep dive into the iconic crime drama series. Nicki’s journey began in the music industry, where she started as a Promotions Assistant at MCA Records and quickly rose to Head of TV Promotions at RCA Records. It was here that she forged a lasting partnership with Simon Cowell and worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including The Spice Girls, Prince, and Amy Winehouse. From 1995 to 2000, Nicki co-founded the Brilliant! PR Company, representing high-profile artists and handling PR for events like the BRIT Awards. Her industry expertise led her to a role as Creative Director at Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment in 2001, where she worked with celebrities such as David Beckham and Will Young. Nicki’s television career took off when she became a judge on ITV's Popstars, which launched the chart-topping group Hear’Say. She later joined Cowell, Pete Waterman, and Neil Fox as a judge on Pop Idol, a show that regularly attracted over 10 million viewers per episode and redefined Saturday night TV. Her versatility as a presenter was further highlighted through appearances on BBC1’s Sport Relief, Let’s Dance For Comic Relief, and Peter Kay’s Britain’s Got The Pop Factor. Outside of her broadcasting work, Nicki is a highly sought-after event host, leading prestigious events such as The First Time Buyer Awards and the European Diversity Awards. She is an Ambassador for British Dressage and is passionate about supporting charities like the Teenage Cancer Trust, Childline, and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy. After undergoing successful brain surgery in 2019, Nicki became an advocate for The Brain Tumour Charity, further demonstrating her resilience and dedication to causes close to her heart. Raised in Kent and spending time in Australia before embarking on her career, Nicki's transition from music publicist to a beloved television personality and author reflects her adaptability and talent across multiple fields.
