Sanjeev Bhaskar is an actor, comedian, and television presenter. Born in Ealing, London, he grew up in Heston, Hounslow, and studied marketing at Hatfield Polytechnic. Bhaskar discovered his passion for comedy and formed a musical duo with Nitin Sawhney called "The Secret Asians." Their big break came when the BBC sketch series "Goodness Gracious Me" producer noticed them, launching Bhaskar's career in comedy and television. He is best known for his roles in "Goodness Gracious Me" and the sitcom "The Kumars at No. 42." Sanjeev has also appeared in films such as "The Guru," "Notting Hill," and "Anita and Me," and made a cameo in the Bollywood film "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom." His contributions to British comedy earned him recognition, including a spot among the 50 funniest acts in 2003 by The Observer. In addition to acting and writing, Sanjeev has hosted shows like Kermode and Mayo's Film Review and the online animation "Rajesh Finesse." Since 2009, he has been the Chancellor of the University of Sussex and received an honorary doctorate from the university in 2014. In 2006, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year Honours List.
