Sara Davies MBE is a British entrepreneur, mentor, and television personality with extensive knowledge of business and economics. She founded Crafter’s Companion in 2005 while studying Business Management at the University of York, where she graduated with First Class Honours. Under her leadership, the company quickly grew, achieving over half a million in turnover and expanding to offices and warehouses in the US and UK, offering innovative crafting products globally.
In recognition of her economic contributions, Sara was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2016. In 2019, she became the youngest female investor on BBC's Dragons’ Den, where she has appeared in five series, showcasing her business acumen and approachable style.
Sara fulfilled a personal ambition by participating in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, partnering with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec. She is a familiar face on television, regularly appearing on shows like Loose Women, Steph’s Packed Lunch, and BBC Morning Live, where she serves as both presenter and craft expert. In 2023, she judged weddings on BBC's Ultimate Wedding Planner and will host Making It with Sara Davies in 2024, supporting inventors in bringing their ideas to market.
Sara is also active in the TV shopping sector, promoting Crafter’s Companion products on networks such as HSN and QVC. Committed to empowering women in business, she mentors through the Entrepreneurs’ Forum and serves as the North East Ambassador for Smart Works Newcastle, a charity that helps unemployed women.
Her accolades include the 2021 Northern Power Women Award for Outstanding Entrepreneur and the 2019 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur of the Year (North East). Crafter’s Companion received the Queen’s Enterprise Award for International Trade in 2020. Sara is dedicated to sharing her insights and experiences in entrepreneurship.
