- Strategic Communications and Campaigns Advisor and Mentor
- Founding leader of the Women's Equality Party
- Author of "Five Rules For Rebellion: Let's Change the World Ourselves"
Sophie Walker spent twenty years at Reuters as an international journalist before she started to campaign for disability rights, particularly those of girls on the autism spectrum.
In 2015, she helped form and led the Women’s Equality Party, running for London Mayor and later for election to Westminster as part of a campaign for investment in equality, including childcare, equal pay and an end to violence against women.
From there, Sophie co-founded Activate, now FundHer, to support women from minoritised communities in standing for political office.
She currently advises individuals and companies on how to identify purpose and translate it into meaningful work and how to talk about work in the most effective way with the right audiences.
She also runs campaign clinics for organisations to translate ambitions for change into compelling messages and actions via targeted next steps while identifying the communities, allies and resources needed to move towards success.
Sophie is also the author of Five Rules For Rebellion: Let’s Change the World Ourselves, a step-by-step journey into incorporating activism into our lives.
