  • Founder of X Equals, focusing on event design and storytelling coaching

Maryam Pasha helps organisations turn complex ideas into stories that audiences remember and act on. As director and curator of TEDxLondon and TEDxLondon Women, she has spent a decade coaching TEDx and TED speakers, with talks she has worked on reaching over fifteen million viewers worldwide and shaping public debate on issues from climate to social justice.

Maryam also co-hosts Climate Curious, TEDxLondon's podcast exploring practical solutions to the climate crisis, and has curated for TED's climate initiative, TED Countdown, since 2023. In 2015 she founded X Equals, working with individuals and teams on events design, curation, storytelling, and pitch coaching.

Maryam's background spans human rights, psychology, and refugee support work, giving her a grounded understanding of how people process difficult or unfamiliar ideas. She draws on this to help speakers and teams find language that lands, whether the goal is inspiring a room or shifting how an audience thinks about a subject.

Sessions with Maryam leave audiences with concrete tools for shaping and delivering their own stories, a clearer sense of what makes an idea spread, and practical takeaways they can use the next time they need to be heard. Testimonials

Crushes it! Maryam was a total joy to work with. She ably coached 50 conservation professionals for a virtual expert series on oceans and climate that we organized. Thoughtful, effective, insightful, and disarming in her coaching. She worked very well with the production team and the event organizers and received rave reviews across the board from the speakers (myself included). Highly recommend.

Matthew Elliot

Executive Director, Oceankind

Maryam was an absolute gift to work with, making everyone from Nobel laureates to Obama Administration Cabinet members to me refine our messages and bring out our own, authentic voice—and all this using only Zoom as a tool during the pandemic. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Jennifer R. Kitt

President, Climate Leadership Initiative

Maryam was great. I’m a pretty experienced speech writer and speaker and she helped me improve the content and the delivery of my talk. Highly recommended.

frequently asked questions

Something we've not covered here?

How do I book Maryam Pasha for my next event?

Email maryam.pasha@getapeptalk.com or call PepTalk on +44 20 3835 2929 (UK) or +1 737 888 5112 (US), and one of our speaker agents will contact you within hours to confirm Maryam's availability and fees. If you can, please include your budget upfront – it helps us fast-track your request. It’s also helpful to know the date, format (virtual or in-person), location, and a bit about your audience.

What is Maryam Pasha's speaking style like?

Maryam Pasha structures sessions around practical storytelling frameworks drawn from her decade of coaching TED and TEDx speakers, giving participants concrete tools they can apply to their own communication challenges.

What topics does Maryam Pasha specialise in?

Maryam Pasha speaks on storytelling, communication and public speaking, climate change, and the craft of making complex ideas land with audiences. She is Director and Curator of TEDxLondon and TEDxLondon Women, with talks she has coached reaching over fifteen million viewers worldwide.

Does PepTalk charge a booking fee?

No. PepTalk adds no booking fee, so you pay the speaker's fee and nothing beyond it. The service, from shortlist through to contracts and event-day logistics, is included. For repeat or multi-event bookings, PepTalk can agree preferential rates with your procurement team.

What happens after I send a brief?

Share your event date, audience, format, objectives and budget, and PepTalk sends a hand-picked shortlist within 24 hours. Each suggestion comes with a profile, a fee and a recommendation on the strongest fit. Once you choose, PepTalk handles contracts, travel and logistics through to event day.

What does the typical fee range mean?

The typical fee range is the speaker's standard in-person fee in their home market, shown in their local currency. It moves with format, location, date and session length: virtual sessions and shorter slots usually cost less, while international travel and peak dates cost more. Send your brief to PepTalk and the team will confirm the exact fee in your currency.

Have all the speakers on the website worked with PepTalk before?

Not all of them, and it makes no difference to your booking. PepTalk's network of 15,000+ speakers covers talent the team works with directly alongside speakers represented by agents and agencies worldwide. PepTalk approaches the speaker, negotiates the fee and handles contracting either way.

How far in advance should I book a speaker?

Three to six months ahead is comfortable for most events, and 12 months is better for large conferences, peak-season dates or one specific in-demand speaker. Shorter timelines are workable, and PepTalk regularly fills last-minute and replacement bookings within days. Availability is the constraint, so get in touch as soon as you have a date.
