André de Freitas is a stand-up comedian and actor, known for creating and co-starring in Comedy Therapy, a live show that combines comedy with mental health discussions. The show transitioned into a podcast, quickly reaching the number 3 spot in Portugal. André studied at Escola Professional de Teatro de Cascais from the age of 15, which led to opportunities in television and film in Portugal. He later discovered stand-up comedy and moved to the UK for five years. Following Brexit, he began performing comedy internationally.
André has toured extensively, performing in various countries across Europe, Dubai, and Australia, where he recently participated in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and won the "Best International New Act" Award. In 2023, he made history as the first Portuguese comedian to perform a solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His debut show, What If, received critical acclaim, earning multiple five-star reviews and being featured in The Telegraph's list of the funniest jokes of the 2023 Fringe.
