Douglas McCauley is a Professor at the University of California Santa Barbara in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology. Douglas started his career as a fisherman in the Port of Los Angeles before earning degrees in political science and biology from UC Berkeley and a PhD in Biology from Stanford University.
