Henri Arslanian is the co-founder and managing partner of Nine Blocks Capital Management, a hedge fund dedicated to digital assets. The firm employs market-neutral strategies to exploit inefficiencies in the crypto markets through relative value, arbitrage, and quantitative methods.
Before this, Henri was a partner and global crypto leader at PwC, advising major crypto exchanges, investors, financial institutions, and tech companies on their crypto initiatives. He guided governments, regulators, and central banks on crypto regulations and policies.
With over 500,000 followers on LinkedIn, Henri is a TEDx speaker and a best-selling author and frequently appears in major media outlets like Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN, BBC, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and the Financial Times. He was recognised by LinkedIn as one of the 2022 global Top Voices in Finance and hosts the CryptoCapsules™ video series, along with The Future of Money podcast and newsletter.
Henri was named the most influential individual in Finance globally on LinkedIn by Onalytica out of over 50,000 professionals in top consulting firms. Chambers Global identified him as the highest-profile FinTech consultant in Hong Kong, while Blockchain Asset Review called him the most influential crypto and blockchain thought leader in Asia. He has authored several best-selling books on crypto and fintech, including “The Book of Crypto” (Palgrave, 2022), which became a global top 10 best-seller in financial services, and “The Future of Finance” (Palgrave, 2019), also a top 10 best-seller and recognised as one of the best fintech books of all time by Bookauthority.
Henri was the first chairman of the FinTech Association of Hong Kong. He served on various advisory groups, including the Hong Kong securities regulator's SFC FinTech Advisory Group and the Dubai DIFC innovation panel. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Hong Kong, where he taught the first FinTech university course globally.
He began his career as a financial markets and funds lawyer in Canada and Hong Kong before joining UBS Investment Bank’s prime brokerage capital consulting team. Henri speaks five languages: English, French, Armenian, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.
He holds a Master’s in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University, a joint Global Executive MBA from Columbia Business School, London Business School, and Hong Kong University, a Bachelor of Law from the University of Montreal, and a Master’s in Transnational Law from the University of Sherbrooke, where he received the Governor General of Canada Gold Medal for Academic Excellence.
