Josh Widdicombe is an English comedian, presenter, and actor. Widdicombe studied linguistics at Manchester University and began his career in journalism. However, his passion for comedy led him to pursue stand-up comedy in 2008. That same year, he reached the finals of the So You Think You're Funny? comedy tournament at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
In 2011, Widdicombe was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. He gained recognition through his appearances on TV shows like Mock the Week, Stand Up For the Week, and The Last Leg. Widdicombe also won the TV quiz Celebrity Mastermind in 2013 and donated his winnings to The Lily Foundation, which supports those with mitochondrial disease.
During the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, Widdicombe co-hosted the podcast Parenting Hell with comedian Rob Beckett. He is also the author of the book Watching Neighbours Twice a Day... How '90s TV (Almost) Prepared Me for Life, which became a Sunday Times bestseller.
