Born in Tredegar, Monmouthshire, Mark represented Wales in international volleyball during the early 1990s. However, in 2009, a paragliding accident left him with a broken back and facing profound physical challenges. Mark’s perseverance paid off at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, where he won two silver medals before breaking world records in track cycling to secure a gold medal.
