  • U.S. Army Ranger portrayed in Black Hawk Down
  • Bronze Star recipient and expert in high-stakes leadership
  • Bestselling author and Emmy-award-winning producer
Matt Eversmann is a former U.S. Army Ranger, Bronze Star recipient, and New York Times bestselling author whose leadership was forged during one of the most studied combat operations in modern military history. His experience under extreme pressure now helps organizations strengthen leadership, accountability, and team performance. Matt served nearly nine years in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying to Mogadishu, Somalia during Operation Gothic Serpent, the mission later chronicled in Black Hawk Down. He went onto serve as an Infantry Company First Sergeant in the 10th Mountain Division during combat operations in Iraq and held leadership roles including Operations Sergeant at the U.S. Army War College. Following his military career, Matt spent a decade in healthcare, nonprofit, and data management sectors, applying battlefield leadership principles in corporate environments. He has taught leadership at John Hopkins University, and is now partner and co-founder of Eversmann Advisory, where he helps prepare emerging leaders to meet the demands of modern workplaces. He is a New York Times bestselling author, and his PBS documentary Send Me earned an Emmy Award in 2019. Matt translates combat leadership principles into practical business strategies. As a young leader during the battle, he experienced firsthand the consequences of uncertainty and the critical importance of trust and teamwork, while his corporate experience allows him to bridge military tactics and workplace challenges. Matt helps organizations build resilient teams, improve execution, and develop leaders capable of responding effectively to disruption, complexity, and high-stakes decision-making. Audiences learn how to lead through chaos, create a culture of accountability, and act decisively in complex situations. Book Matt to equip your leaders with proven principles forged in extreme environments.
