Rosie Jones is a comedian, writer, and actress known for her humour and advocacy, particularly in disability representation. She began her career writing for panel shows before moving into stand-up comedy. Her performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, notably "Inspiration" in 2017 and "Fifteen Minutes" in 2018, received critical acclaim. The latter explored themes of identity and featured a hypothetical "able-bodied Rosie."
Rosie often incorporates her cerebral palsy into her routines, helping to normalise disability in mainstream media. She has appeared on popular shows such as Live at the Apollo, The Jonathan Ross Show, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and The Last Leg.
As a writer, Rosie has contributed to the Netflix series Sex Education and co-created the Channel 4 comedy short Disability Benefits, part of their 2022 Comedy Blaps collection. Her work highlights the importance of disability representation in media. In acting, she made her prime-time debut in Silent Witness and has had a recurring role in BBC One's Casualty. She has also appeared in series like Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators and Might & Magic: Era of Chaos.
Rosie is a strong advocate for disability inclusion and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Huddersfield in 2022. Her children's book series, The Amazing Edie Eckhart, promotes positive representations of disability.
Currently, she is on her debut international tour, Triple Threat, following successful runs in the UK and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2023. She will also host the comedy game show Out of Order on Comedy Central and participate in the eighteenth series of Taskmaster.
