Sally Magnusson is an award-winning broadcaster, journalist, and author with more than four decades of experience leading conversations on public life, health, culture, and social change. Based in Scotland, she anchored BBC programmes from Breakfast Time to Reporting Scotland while building a reputation for clear-headed journalism on challenging subjects. Alongside broadcasting, Sally is an accomplished author of fiction and non-fiction, including four acclaimed novels and the Sunday Times bestselling memoir about her mother's dementia, Where Memories Go. She holds honorary degrees from five universities and fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. In 2013, Sally founded Playlist for Life, inspired by first-hand experience of how music can support people living with dementia. The charity has since become nationally recognised, winning Scottish Charity of the Year, and in 2023 she was awarded an MBE for services to people with dementia and their carers. Her BBC documentary Alzheimer’s, a Cure and Me reflects her ability to combine personal insight with clear-eyed journalism.
