Steve Ingham is a sports scientist and performance consultant who has spent his career embedded in elite sport, helping athletes and teams reach World and Olympic level.
He has supported more than 1,000 athletes, over 200 of whom went on to win World or Olympic medals, including Jessica Ennis-Hill, Sir Steve Redgrave, and Sir Matthew Pinsent, and coached Kelly Sotherton to Olympic and World medal success. Steve went on to lead a 200-strong team as Director of Science and Technical Development at the English Institute of Sport, following earlier roles at the British Olympic Association. He holds a PhD undertaken while working with the rowing team and is a Fellow of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences.
His work translates the principles behind Olympic performance into practical guidance for teams working under pressure. Structured preparation, honest feedback, and composure when it matters most are the same tools that took his athletes to the podium, and Steve shows organisations how to apply them to their own high performance goals. He shares this thinking as host of the Supporting Champions podcast and author of two books on applying science to elite performance.
Audiences leave with a clearer sense of how to build resilience, use feedback to drive improvement, and create the conditions high performers need to thrive under pressure, drawn from three decades spent inside elite sport's most demanding environments.
Book Steve to bring genuine Olympic-level insight into how high performance is really built, sustained, and led.
