Todd Zeile

Todd Zeile is a former Major League Baseball player whose 16-year career was defined by versatility, longevity, and a knack for showing up when it mattered. A member of the 2,000-hit club who played for 11 different teams, he now shares stories from baseball, broadcasting, and life beyond the game. Todd debuted with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1989 after being drafted out of UCLA, where he played catcher for the Bruins. Over the next decade and a half, he built a reputation as one of baseball's most adaptable players. He moved from catcher to first base and then to third while contributing wherever teams needed him most across 11 Major League organisations including the Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, and Cardinals. By the time Todd retired in 2004, he had accumulated 2,004 career hits, 253 home runs, and 1,110 RBIs, quietly setting a unique Major League record by hitting home runs for all 11 teams he played for. Some of Todd's most meaningful memories come from beyond the diamond. As the Mets' player representative following September 11, 2001, he helped lead the team's outreach to first responders, an experience that deepened his connection to New York and left a lasting impression on how he thinks about leadership and community. Since retiring, Todd has built a second career in broadcasting and film. As a studio analyst for SNY since 2017, he hosts the Mets pre- and postgame shows and has won eight Emmy Awards, including two individual honors. He founded Green Diamond Entertainment and has produced and appeared in projects including the documentary How Baseball United America. He is a member of the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame and is active in juvenile diabetes research, driven by his daughter's diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes.
