Gabriela Pedranti is a communication specialist and semiotician whose work bridges cultural analysis, sustainability, and fashion. She built her career translating complex ideas about consumption and identity into practical strategies for brands and educators.
Gabriela holds a degree in communications from the University of Buenos Aires and a master's in contemporary film and audiovisual studies from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. In 2009, she co-founded Semiotica Studio with Ximena Tobi, an agency offering cultural analysis and communication strategy. She has taught at IED Barcelona since 2006 and at Pompeu Fabra University since 2016, and she currently serves as President of the Barcelona Sustainable Fashion Association.
Her background in semiotics gives Gabriela a distinctive lens on how brands, products, and behaviours acquire meaning. She applies this to help organisations communicate sustainability commitments credibly, connect with audiences across generations, and design campaigns that support genuine behavioural change rather than surface-level messaging.
Audiences leave her sessions with concrete tools for reading cultural signals, building narratives that resonate with target consumers, and applying circular economy principles to their own communication strategies. Her academic grounding and industry experience give these takeaways practical weight.
Book Gabriela to bring rigorous cultural insight and a clear communication strategy to conversations about sustainability and consumer behaviour.
Topics, sessions and talks
Gabriela Pedranti examines how organisations can foster circularity and build a regenerative economy through creative design and communication strategies. Drawing on her background in semiotics and cultural analysis, she looks at how brands connect with audiences to encourage more responsible lifestyles across the full design and communication cycle. Attendees come away with practical tools for driving genuine behavioural change within their own organisations and the wider communities and markets they serve, from product design through to marketing communication.
Gabriela Pedranti focuses on the storytelling skills fashion and sustainability brands need to build a genuine following. She looks at how to create content tailored to a specific audience, tell stories that hold attention, and turn casual followers into a community that stays engaged with a circular project over time. The talk gives communication teams a practical approach to sustaining that connection long after the first post, particularly where credibility depends on consistent, honest messaging.
Gabriela Pedranti addresses the challenge companies face in conveying the values their brands represent, alongside the habits and consumption patterns customers use to define their own identities. She applies semiotics and cultural analysis to show how a product, brand, or concept comes to mean something to someone in a given context, and how that meaning shifts over time. Attendees leave with tools for reading and articulating what consumers cannot easily put into words themselves.
Gabriela combines academic training in communication and semiotics with hands-on consultancy experience through Semiotica Studio. For organisations working to communicate sustainability credibly, her cultural analysis approach offers a framework for connecting brand messaging with consumer behaviour and genuine impact.
