George Rhoden's biography

At a glance

  • Former Detective Inspector at New Scotland Yard
  • Specialist Investigator on award-winning 'Hunted' series
  • Senior leadership trainer for global corporations

George Rhoden is a security specialist, crisis negotiator, and leadership trainer with extensive experience in law enforcement and high-stakes operations.

His career began at the age of sixteen as a Police Cadet, at a time of significant tension between the police and the Black community. He was one of the very few Black officers in the force, navigating a challenging landscape while developing expertise in law enforcement, crisis response, and undercover operations.

Over more than three decades with the Metropolitan Police Service, George progressed to the rank of Detective Inspector, leading specialist units within the Serious and Organised Crime Command at New Scotland Yard. His work included covert operations, crisis negotiation, and major crime investigations, positioning him as a trusted security and risk management authority.

He also played a key role in international security initiatives, serving as a Senior Police Instructor consultant for the US and Mexican International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau, working on bilateral security agreements to combat organised crime and violence.

Beyond policing, George has established himself as a sought-after leadership trainer and consultant, delivering strategic guidance to global corporations, government agencies, and educational institutions. He has worked with major brands such as Nike, AstraZeneca, and Scandinavian Airlines, providing senior executives crisis management training and decision-making support.

His expertise has also been applied to high-profile security roles, including leadership positions at the London 2012 and Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.

George is well known to television audiences for his role in the award-winning Channel 4 series Hunted and Celebrity Hunted, where he applies his specialist experience to track down fugitives. He also appeared in the BAFTA-winning BBC documentary Uprising, which explored the social unrest of the 1980s in London. His frequent media appearances as a crisis management expert further highlight his depth of knowledge and practical insights.

A dedicated mentor and advocate for diversity and inclusion, George is committed to fostering leadership, resilience, and operational excellence across sectors.

Something we've not covered here?

How do I book George Rhoden for my next event?

Email george.rhoden@getapeptalk.com or call PepTalk on +44 20 3835 2929 (UK) or +1 737 888 5112 (US), and one of our speaker agents will contact you within hours to confirm George's availability and fees. If you can, please include your budget upfront – it helps us fast-track your request. It’s also helpful to know the date, format (virtual or in-person), location, and a bit about your audience.

What is George Rhoden's speaking style like?

George Rhoden draws on over three decades of operational experience in the Metropolitan Police Service to structure his sessions, using case-based examples from covert operations, crisis negotiation, and major crime investigations to illustrate leadership and decision-making principles.

What topics does George Rhoden specialise in?

George Rhoden's sessions address crisis management, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, conflict resolution, and negotiation under pressure. He served as a Detective Inspector at New Scotland Yard for over three decades, leading specialist units within the Serious and Organised Crime Command, and is recognised by television audiences for his role in Channel 4's award-winning series Hunted.

Does PepTalk charge a booking fee?

No. PepTalk adds no booking fee, so you pay the speaker's fee and nothing beyond it. The service, from shortlist through to contracts and event-day logistics, is included. For repeat or multi-event bookings, PepTalk can agree preferential rates with your procurement team.

What happens after I send a brief?

Share your event date, audience, format, objectives and budget, and PepTalk sends a hand-picked shortlist within 24 hours. Each suggestion comes with a profile, a fee and a recommendation on the strongest fit. Once you choose, PepTalk handles contracts, travel and logistics through to event day.

What does the typical fee range mean?

The typical fee range is the speaker's standard in-person fee in their home market, shown in their local currency. It moves with format, location, date and session length: virtual sessions and shorter slots usually cost less, while international travel and peak dates cost more. Send your brief to PepTalk and the team will confirm the exact fee in your currency.

Have all the speakers on the website worked with PepTalk before?

Not all of them, and it makes no difference to your booking. PepTalk's network of 15,000+ speakers covers talent the team works with directly alongside speakers represented by agents and agencies worldwide. PepTalk approaches the speaker, negotiates the fee and handles contracting either way.

How far in advance should I book a speaker?

Three to six months ahead is comfortable for most events, and 12 months is better for large conferences, peak-season dates or one specific in-demand speaker. Shorter timelines are workable, and PepTalk regularly fills last-minute and replacement bookings within days. Availability is the constraint, so get in touch as soon as you have a date.
