Londy Ngcobo is a global ship navigator and Africa’s first female dredge master, known for her leadership and expertise in unlocking Africa’s ocean economy. With over 15 years of maritime industry experience, Londy has navigated her way through groundbreaking roles, including serving as a ship officer for Maersk and as Executive Maritime Compliance Manager for South Africa’s largest logistics company. Today, she leads the consultancy Unlocking Oceans Economy and founded Global Maritime Youth, organisations that drive innovation and create opportunities in the blue economy.
Londy works with organisations across industries to develop practical strategies for fostering diversity, inclusion, and growth within corporations. She empowers women to take charge of their narratives, drawing from her experience of becoming a ship captain in a male-dominated field.
