Lindsay Tarpley is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and one of the most accomplished players in U.S. women's soccer history, with 125 international caps and 32 goals for the United States women's national soccer team (USWNT).
She scored the golden goal in the first FIFA U-19 Women's World Cup and helped the USWNT to gold at both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympics, opening the scoring in the 2004 gold medal match against Brazil. At the University of North Carolina, Lindsay helped win a national championship and was named National Player of the Year and ESPN RISE High School Player of the Decade for the 2000s.
Following a knee injury that ended her playing career in 2011, Lindsay has gone on to build a career as a speaker, entrepreneur, and mentor. She founded the World Champion Soccer Academy, which takes a holistic approach to developing young athletes on and off the field, and co-founded N-LITE Talent, which tracks and nurtures emerging players. She also serves as a FIFA Legend and IOC Athlete Representative, advocating for the growth of the game.
As a keynote speaker, Lindsay draws on her Olympic and World Cup experience to explore how individuals and teams thrive under pressure, embrace challenges, and build a culture of excellence, with a particular focus on resilience, adaptability, and mental wellbeing. She tailors every talk to the client and audience, bringing the same preparation that defined her playing career to every keynote.
Book Lindsay to bring Olympic-level resilience and performance under pressure to your next event.
Topics, sessions and talks
Lindsay Tarpley explores the mindset, strategy, and resilience behind two Olympic gold medals and a World Cup campaign. She breaks down how elite teams set clear goals, build a disciplined plan, and adapt quickly when circumstances change, while showing what it takes to be a strong teammate even among very different personalities. Drawing lessons directly from her own gold medal moments, Lindsay helps audiences apply the same principles to sustain motivation and perform under pressure in their own environments.
Lindsay Tarpley draws on Olympic gold in Athens and Beijing, plus a career-ending injury, to show how elite athletes stay motivated and consistent when the odds turn against them. She walks audiences through the discipline behind daily training, the mental shifts that prevent burnout, and the habits that build resilience across a whole team. Aimed at anyone chasing ambitious goals in uncertain conditions, the talk leaves audiences energized and equipped with an elite mindset for their own pressure moments.
Lindsay Tarpley reflects on winning two Olympic gold medals alongside the losses that forced her to redefine her identity, including a career-ending knee injury. She describes how her greatest strength, an unrelenting drive to keep chasing the next goal, doubled as her greatest weakness, since it left little room to pause and enjoy what she had achieved. She shares the strategies that helped her protect her wellbeing without sacrificing performance, offering high achievers a way to sustain ambition through mindfulness, boundaries, and perspective.
