Phil Le-Brun's biography

At a glance

  • AWS Executive in Residence advising Fortune 500 organisations
  • Former McDonald’s CIO who led global technology transformation
  • Co-author of The Octopus Organization on adaptive enterprises

Phil Le-Brun helps organisations move beyond rigid structures to become adaptable in an era of continuous technological change. He serves as Executive in Residence at Amazon Web Services and previously spent over 25 years at McDonald's Corporation, where he held roles as Corporate Vice President and International CIO.

At McDonald's, Phil co-led the consolidation and modernisation of technology across the organisation's 38,000 restaurants in 120 countries, serving one per cent of the world's total population daily. His work helped scale digital capabilities, including e-commerce and delivery, while driving significant cost efficiencies and operational improvements. He was named one of the UK's top 100 CIOs two years running during this time.

Now leading the Executives in Residence team at AWS, Phil advises Fortune 500 and public-sector organisations on navigating complex transformation programmes. His work centres on aligning technology strategy with culture, enabling organisations to move faster, experiment more effectively, and unlock value from cloud, data, and AI investments.

Phil is a regular contributor to leading publications, including the Wall Street Journal and The Guardian and is a guest lecturer at universities such as Oxford and the London School of Economics. He co-authored The Octopus Organization, and its accompanying Harvard Business Review publication, with Dr Jana Werner. Together, they frequently deliver keynote talks and conference sessions globally, exploring how organisations can become more adaptive and responsive.

Audiences gain a clearer understanding of how to align people, culture, and technology to deliver meaningful, sustained change, enabling organisations to respond more effectively to disruption while maintaining focus on long-term performance.

Book Phil to transform how your leadership thinks about change and replace disruptive explosions with sustainable progress.

How do I book Phil Le-Brun for my next event?

To book Phil Le-Brun, email phil.le.brun@getapeptalk.com or call PepTalk on +44 20 3835 2929 (UK) or +1 737 888 5112 (US), and one of our speaker agents will contact you within hours to confirm Phil's availability and speaking fee. If you can, please include your budget upfront – it helps us fast-track your request. It’s also helpful to know the date, format (virtual or in-person), location, and about your audience.

What is Phil Le-Brun's speaking style like?

Phil Le-Brun structures his sessions around the framework developed in The Octopus Organization, co-authored with Dr Jana Werner, using this model to walk audiences through how organisations can align people, culture, and technology to become more adaptive. He draws on case studies from his tenure at McDonald's, where he led technology consolidation across 38,000 restaurants in 120 countries, to ground the framework in large-scale, real-world transformation.

What topics does Phil Le-Brun specialise in?

Phil Le-Brun speaks on organisational adaptability, technology strategy, and the alignment of culture with digital transformation, drawing also on cloud, data, and AI investment themes. He serves as Executive in Residence at Amazon Web Services and previously held the role of International CIO at McDonald's Corporation, where he co-led technology modernisation across 38,000 restaurants in 120 countries; he was named one of the UK's top 100 CIOs two years running and co-authored The Octopus Organization with an accompanying Harvard Business Review publication.

Does PepTalk charge a booking fee?

No. PepTalk adds no booking fee, so you pay the speaker's fee and nothing beyond it. The service, from shortlist through to contracts and event-day logistics, is included. For repeat or multi-event bookings, PepTalk can agree preferential rates with your procurement team.

What happens after I send a brief?

Share your event date, audience, format, objectives and budget, and PepTalk sends a hand-picked shortlist within 24 hours. Each suggestion comes with a profile, a fee and a recommendation on the strongest fit. Once you choose, PepTalk handles contracts, travel and logistics through to event day.

What does the typical fee range mean?

The typical fee range is the speaker's standard in-person fee in their home market, shown in their local currency. It moves with format, location, date and session length: virtual sessions and shorter slots usually cost less, while international travel and peak dates cost more. Send your brief to PepTalk and the team will confirm the exact fee in your currency.

Have all the speakers on the website worked with PepTalk before?

Not all of them, and it makes no difference to your booking. PepTalk's network of 15,000+ speakers covers talent the team works with directly alongside speakers represented by agents and agencies worldwide. PepTalk approaches the speaker, negotiates the fee and handles contracting either way.

How far in advance should I book a speaker?

Three to six months ahead is comfortable for most events, and 12 months is better for large conferences, peak-season dates or one specific in-demand speaker. Shorter timelines are workable, and PepTalk regularly fills last-minute and replacement bookings within days. Availability is the constraint, so get in touch as soon as you have a date.
