Lizzie Penny and Alex Hirst are friends, entrepreneurs, changemakers and bestselling authors.
They have been leading the conversation on an inclusive future of work for a decade, campaigning for the individualisation of work in order to improve wellbeing, step change productivity and redefine inclusion. They believe passionately that creating autonomy at work – giving everyone the freedom to choose when and where they work – could drive diversity, equity and inclusion in a way not seen before and that taking an intersectional viewpoint is central to this.
Lizzie and Alex co-founded B Corp and social enterprise Hoxby Ltd in 2015 to prove the concept and the business now consults to others wishing to work this way. They have helped thousands of workstylers around the world to set, project and respect their own workstyles, and are conducting pioneering research into the link between autonomy, productivity and wellbeing. Hoxby has delivered projects working in a workstyle way for some of the biggest businesses in the world including Unilever, Merck, Amazon, AIA and Sony.
Through the Workstyle Revolution they collaborate with charities including Scope, Mind, Autistica, Working Families, Carers UK, Age UK and Chronic Illness Inclusion, bringing these organisations together to further intersectional inclusion at an individual, employer and governmental level. They have spoken at events including Future of Work Europe, the CIPD Festival of Work, HR Week, Flexpo and Cheltenham Literature Festival, amongst others.
They love nothing more than the chance to speak to an engaged audience about a future of work that is fit for the digital age we live in and which could redefine wellbeing, productivity and society.
Their book Workstyle: A revolution for wellbeing, productivity and society was a No.1 Sunday Times Business Bestseller.
