Jeanette Kwakye, a former elite athlete and five-time British Champion, is recognised as a leading broadcaster in the UK. A significant highlight of her athletic career was competing in the 2008 100m Olympic final in Beijing, making her the first British woman to achieve this in 24 years.
After retiring due to injury, Jeanette transitioned to journalism in 2013 and quickly established herself in broadcasting. She is a presenter and pundit for BBC Athletics, the BBC Women’s Football Show, and the Women’s Super League. Additionally, she co-hosts BBC Radio 5live Breakfast, covering various topics, and collaborates with BBC flagship shows like The One Show and Morning Live.
Jeanette made history as the first black female UK TV presenter to host a boxing production on a terrestrial channel and continues to present boxing events on Channel 5. She currently leads a new show for Sky Sports, showcasing the British Basketball League weekly on linear and YouTube platforms.
In 2023, Jeanette joined The Martin Lewis Money Show for its 13th series, co-hosting alongside Martin Lewis. She is also set to lead BBC Sport’s live coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, presenting a live breakfast show each morning from the BBC’s studio in central Paris with JJ Chalmers.
Jeanette is an experienced host and speaker who has collaborated with brands such as Google, Nike, Twitter, and BMW. She also moderates for the International Olympic Committee and the International Association of Athletics Federations.
