Alexandra Langelier, Executive Vice President of IGOPP, has dedicated nearly 20 years to promoting a practical approach to governance that creates value. Through written communications, research, training programmes, policy papers, and media appearances, IGOPP has influenced many CEOs and boards on social and governance matters, particularly in Canada. The Institute, supported by a committed board, is recognised for its reasonable and innovative ideas, establishing itself as a strategic think tank for both public and private organisations in Canada.
In her role, Alexandra oversees all governance interventions and consultations and the training activities offered by IGOPP. She ensures the dissemination of best practices derived from the Institute's research and manages its administrative and financial operations. As a chartered professional accountant (CPA), she has extensive professional experience, including tenure as an auditor at Deloitte.
Alexandra has also developed expertise in training, having served as a lecturer at HEC Montréal and a professor at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. For nearly twelve years, she was the director of professional development programme design at the CPA Order, where she monitored professional practice, assessed CPAs' needs, and organized training activities and events.
Additionally, she has led various working groups and committees within the CPA Order. As a volunteer, Alexandra has participated on several boards of directors, including as a member of the audit committee. Her contributions have significantly advanced the knowledge of professionals and the public in governance and accounting practices.
