Ed Jackson is a former professional rugby player who has transitioned into a charity founder, adventurer, mentor, and broadcaster. Despite a thriving career on the field, his life took a dramatic turn when he suffered a life-changing spinal injury after accidentally diving into the shallow end of a swimming pool. This moment had a profound impact on him, leaving him quadriplegic and uncertain if he would ever walk again.
However, through sheer determination, Ed defied the odds and achieved remarkable results. He started by regaining movement in his arms to operate a wheelchair and soon progressed to standing and walking a mile. Today, Ed is a testament to the human spirit, having conquered mountains, summits, and all the challenges life has thrown at him. He firmly believes that happiness is not just a product of circumstances but something accessible to all if we know how to seize it.
Drawing from his own experiences, Ed now uses his story to motivate teams and individuals who are facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles. His book, 'Lucky,' has even become a Sunday Times Bestseller, further inspiring others. In August 2024, Ed’s debut movie produced in partnership with Universal Pictures, 'The Mountain Within Me', hit the cinemas. The documentary which is now available to download, follows Ed’s journey of resilience, courage, and strength and has been praised as "an inspiring, thought-provoking documentary about unexpected change, hope, and finding renewed purpose in life".
When not climbing mountains, Ed is a regular presenter and commentator on Channel 4. Most recently travelled to Paris to host the 2024 Paralympics. If you're ready for a double shot of inspiration, it's time to level up with Ed.
