Gina Martin is a dedicated gender equality activist, writer, and speaker whose passion for social justice has driven remarkable change, including her campaign to make upskirting a specific criminal offence in the UK. In 2019, after tirelessly campaigning, Gina achieved a landmark victory with the creation of the Voyeurism Act, setting a precedent that has since inspired similar legislation in three other countries. Beyond her legislative success, Gina has shifted her focus from punishment to prevention, advocating for a society where women can feel safe without relying solely on the criminal justice system.
With a voice that resonates across media and public platforms, Gina uses her expertise to challenge and educate others about misogyny, sexual violence, and gender stereotypes. She is a Changemaker for UN Women UK and an Ambassador for Beyond Equality, where she co-hosts seminars on countering online misogyny. Through her workshops with Tomorrow Woman, Gina empowers students to dismantle gender stereotypes, encouraging a new generation to speak their truth and drive social change.
As an author, Gina has penned three books, including Be The Change and the Amazon bestseller No Offence, But…. Her insightful and candid writing has also appeared in GQ, The Guardian, Stylist Magazine, Grazia, The Telegraph, the World Economic Forum, and Vogue. Gina declined an OBE nomination for her work, citing her stance on the historical violence of the British Empire.
