In August 2016, after a biopsy, Lauren's doctor delivered the devastating news, "I'm sorry, it's not good news. It's cancer."
At just 31 years old, Lauren initially couldn't believe it. She felt too young and full of life to be facing such a serious illness.
However, the reality was that she did have breast cancer. A 2.8cm 'Grade 3' cancerous lump invaded her right breast without her consent, turning her life upside down. Seeking support and camaraderie, Lauren searched for other women who had faced the same "c-bomb" for advice and encouragement. Unfortunately, she mostly encountered pessimistic online communities.
Frustrated with the misconception that cancer only affects those over fifty, Lauren decided to take control of her breast cancer diagnosis and started sharing her journey on her blog and Instagram using the hashtag #GIRLvsCANCER.
Lauren offers your team insights into resilience, the power of community, and overcoming adversity. Her compelling story will inspire innovation, foster a supportive culture, and highlight the importance of health awareness in the workplace, making her an invaluable asset to your business event or team-building initiative.
