Patrick Hutchinson's mantra is "Fit at fifty," as he strives to improve the physical wellbeing and mental tranquility of others. He uses daily exercise and martial arts as a motivational tool, frequently traveling to Thailand for challenging Muay Thai training camps. These experiences have honed his Thai boxing skills and continue to shape his mental fortitude. Patrick credits his various Kru's (instructors) in Thailand for much of his growth.
On June 13, 2020, Patrick and his friends found themselves compelled to intervene in an incident that would ultimately alter the course of their lives and shock the world. The image of Patrick rescuing an anti-BLM protestor from serious harm quickly went viral. His actions not only saved the BLM protest from being hijacked by negative press but also changed the narrative surrounding the event. Patrick's heroic act amidst the chaos was captured on camera, and within hours, major news outlets such as CNN, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Sun, ITV News, BBC News, Channel 4 News, and Channel 5 were reaching out to him.
He has since been featured in magazines like GQ and Vogue, even gracing the front cover of Men's Health magazine. GQ also recognized him as a GQ hero and awarded him their "Men of the Year - Humanitarian Award." All of this recognition occurred within just six months. Patrick is now viewed as a beacon of hope and an advocate for change, diversity, inclusion, and unity worldwide.
