Dr Megan Rossi, PhD, RD, is a prominent gut health scientist and registered dietitian, known as ‘The Gut Health Doctor’. She founded The Gut Health Doctor in 2017 to empower individuals to take control of their health through credible, evidence-based information.
Megan has spent over a decade in the field of dietetics and nutrition, earning a PhD in gut health that received the Dean’s Award for outstanding research. Currently, she serves as a leading Research Fellow at King’s College London, where she investigates nutrition-based therapies for gut health. Her work has attracted over £3 million in research funding, and she has published more than 50 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Frustrated by the prevalence of misinformation about gut health, Megan turned to social media to share her findings and connect with the public. She has built a community of over half a million followers, providing accessible advice on gut health. Her books, including 'Eat More, Live Well', and 'Eat Yourself Healthy', have achieved bestseller status on the Sunday Times list, offering practical guidance on nutrition and gut health.
In addition to her writing, Megan founded The Gut Health Clinic in London, where she leads a team of specialist dietitians. The clinic provides personalised support for various nutritional needs, including food intolerances, weight management, and mental health. Megan also created Bio&Me, a multi-award-winning gut health food brand, to bridge the gap between scientific research and the food industry.
Megan's commitment to advancing gut health has been recognised with several awards, including the British Medical Journal prize and the British Nutrition Foundation award, presented by HRH Princess Anne.
Megan's mission is to inspire and transform gut health globally through the latest scientific insights. She regularly contributes to media outlets such as The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph and appears on popular daytime television shows, including 'This Morning'. Through her work, she aims to provide high-quality, evidence-based nutrition advice, helping individuals achieve better health outcomes.
